Yaz prescription online

Yaz is a prescription birth control pill that combines drospirenone (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen). It’s primarily used to prevent pregnancy but can also be prescribed to treat moderate acne and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). When taken exactly as directed, Yaz has a failure rate of less than 1% per year.

If it’s medically appropriate, a licensed provider on Klarity Health can offer a Yaz prescription online within 24 hours after a virtual consultation.*

Providers on Klarity Health are independent practitioners with clinical autonomy; a diagnosis, treatment, or prescription isn’t guaranteed.

About Yaz

What is Yaz?
Yaz is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved oral contraceptive that combines 2 hormones—drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol. It belongs to a class of birth control pills called combination oral contraceptives, which work by regulating hormone levels to prevent ovulation.

In addition to pregnancy prevention, Yaz is also indicated for the treatment of moderate acne in females at least 14 years old who choose oral contraception and have started menstruating. It is also approved to manage symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a severe form of premenstrual syndrome.

Yaz contains 24 days of active hormone pills and 4 days of hormone-free (inert) pills, offering a shorter hormone-free interval than many other birth control pills. This consistent hormone delivery may help reduce fluctuations that can lead to side effects like mood swings or acne.
