Sprintec is typically taken once daily, at the same time each day. Each pack contains 28 tablets:
– 21 active tablets (each containing 0.25 milligrams (mg) of norgestimate and 0.035 mg of ethinyl estradiol)
– 7 inactive (placebo) tablets taken during the final week to allow for a withdrawal bleed
To start:
– If beginning on the first day of your period, take the first active pill that day.
– If using the ‘Sunday start’ method, begin the first active pill on the Sunday after your period begins. Use an additional non-hormonal contraceptive method (e.g., condoms) for the first 7 days of the first cycle.
