About dulera

About dulera

What is dulera?
Dulera is a prescription inhaler that combines two active ingredients: formoterol, a long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA), and mometasone, an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). This combination helps to control and prevent asthma symptoms by relaxing the airways and reducing inflammation.

Formoterol works by stimulating beta2 receptors in the lungs, which relaxes smooth muscle cells and opens up the airways, making it easier to breathe. Mometasone, on the other hand, mimics the effects of naturally-produced corticosteroids in the body. It reduces inflammation in the airways by preventing the release of substances that cause inflammation, such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes.

Dulera is prescribed for the long-term maintenance treatment of asthma in patients 5 years and older. It is not intended for use as a rescue inhaler during acute asthma attacks. Dulera is available in two strengths: 50 mcg/ 5 mcg, 100 mcg/5 mcg and 200 mcg/5 mcg per inhalation. A licensed healthcare provider on Klarity can determine the appropriate strength and dosage based on your specific asthma condition.

How to get a dulera prescription online

Getting a Dulera inhaler prescription online is a straightforward process with Klarity. Here’s how it works:

  1. Book a virtual visit through Klarity Health
  2. Discuss your symptoms and medical history with a licensed provider
  3. If appropriate, your prescription will be sent to your preferred pharmacy

It’s important to note that Dulera is a prescription-only medication, and it must be used under the guidance of a healthcare provider. The providers on Klarity follow clinical guidelines and best practices to ensure the safe and appropriate use of Dulera and other asthma medications. If Dulera is not suitable for you, the provider can recommend alternative treatment options based on your specific needs.

How does dulera compare to other medications?

Dulera is widely used for managing respiratory conditions due to its combination of an inhaled corticosteroid and a long-acting beta-agonist (LABA), which helps reduce inflammation and improve breathing over time. However, several alternative medications are available for individuals with asthma or COPD, each with unique properties in terms of class, duration, common uses, and oral availability.
