About Sean
Hello, I'm Sean Michael Ryan, a passionate Psychiatric Physician Assistant based in Pensacola, Florida. I hold a Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama. My undergrad work was in English Literature, and I have a long history working in hospital pharmacy too. This unique combination allows me to deliver compassionate care with excellent communication.

I specialize in psychiatry and addiction treatment, including MAT for opioid abuse. My extensive experience spans various healthcare settings, including telepsychiatry and traditional medical services, enabling me to bring comprehensive care to my patients. I am also familiar with additional services which may be needed in the Northwest Florida area and can refer my patients to these as needed.

I strongly emphasize whole-person care when treating my patients. Integrative practices, spiritual care, medication management and CBT therapy are the cornerstones of treatment with me.

Treatment philosophy & approaches
I believe in a caring, whole-person approach to mental health. I listen carefully and work side-by-side with my patients. Every journey is unique. I use standard-of-care psychiatric medication management, integrative (whole body and system focused) care, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational/supportive therapy, and spiritual care. I believe that as long as you are breathing and showing up there's hope, and I like to celebrate the small wins my patients have on their healing journeys. Recovery from depression, mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, substance abuse or other forms of addiction is hard under the best circumstances. I'm humbled to have walked this path myself and honored to bring others into a new future where peace, healing and joy is possible.
Medications prescribed
I don't prescribe the following medications
Adderall (amphetamine mixed salts)
Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)
Ritalin (methylphenidate)
