Treatment philosophy & approaches
When you work with me as your psychotherapist, I want to support you with accountability and empathy. Many people I have worked with feel misunderstood and as though no one understands how they feel. Active listening is needed to understand where a client is and where they want to go. It's hard to heal from past and present pains if no one is there to listen. During our sessions, I use a client-centered approach to help you by examining your main stressors and concerns. Psychodynamic therapy is used to explore past and present factors that have influenced your life journey. Cognitive-behavioral therapy explores thinking patterns that created current unhealthy behaviors and helps you learn healthy coping skills. The coping skills involve managing emotions and exploring your triggers.
