Anthem commercial plans in Florida may cover anxiety evaluation, follow-up, therapy referrals, and some anti-anxiety medications when the visit is medically necessary, in network, and allowed on your medical policy and Carelon Rx list. Coverage is not automatic. Federal MHPAEA and Florida Statutes § 627.668 set a floor for many fully insured group products. Always verify your own benefits before you book.

Often, some of it, with caveats. Evaluation visits and medication management may process as medical benefits on many Anthem commercial plans when the visit is medically necessary and in network. Medication is a separate pharmacy question. Copays, deductibles, and whether Klarity is in network still sit in your Summary of Benefits and Coverage, medical policy, and Prescription Drug List.
Self-funded ERISA employer plans follow federal rules and the plan document more than Florida Insurance Code. Medicare Advantage, Florida Medicaid, and dual-eligible products follow CMS and AHCA, not § 627.668 in the same way. Always treat this page as education, not a coverage determination.
Do not confuse Anthem with Florida Blue (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida), which is a separate Blue plan. Confirm the legal name on your card.
Check if your plan may cover an anxiety visit.
Two layers matter in 2026:
If Anthem denies a brand SSRI after a generic alternative exists, that is often a formulary or PA issue, not an automatic parity violation. If the denial is a blanket mental-health visit cap that medical visits do not face, parity may apply. Keep those buckets separate when you appeal.
Florida DFS consumer help: myfloridacfo.com/division/consumers. Helpline: 1-877-693-5236. Out of state: 850-413-3089.
Florida Statutes § 456.47 sets practice standards for telehealth providers. It does not rewrite Anthem’s deductible or force a $0 virtual visit. Whether an anxiety telehealth visit bills as in network still depends on the clinician’s contract, your plan type, and medical necessity.
Klarity clinicians treat patients in states where they are licensed. Confirm Florida licensure and Anthem network status before you assume the claim will process as in network.
Many Anthem commercial members in Florida use Carelon Rx for pharmacy. Typical anxiety drug patterns:
Do not mix this with Cigna Express Scripts PA Policy IP0477, which targets ADHD stimulants, not Anthem anxiety drugs. Do not mix this with CVS/Caremark’s Zepbound timeline (removed July 1, 2025; reinstated October 1, 2026 on many Caremark lists). That is an obesity/Aetna PBM story.
HHS and DEA extended certain COVID-era telemedicine flexibilities for prescribing many controlled medications through December 31, 2026. That matters if a clinician considers a Schedule IV benzodiazepine. It does not, by itself, guarantee Anthem will pay for the visit or the fill. SSRIs typically sit outside that DEA schedule question.
If your card says Medicare Advantage, CMS 42 CFR Part 422 and the plan formulary control benefits more than Fla. Stat. § 627.668. Appeals after plan reconsideration often go to Maximus IRE at 1-855-887-6668.
The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge is a CMS obesity program (~$50/month for certain Wegovy, Zepbound KwikPen, and Foundayo products). It is not an anxiety benefit. Florida Medicaid and dual-eligible members should use AHCA and CMS channels, not this commercial page.
Verify your benefits and see if you may qualify.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988. This page does not replace emergency care.
