If you feel low and wired at the same time, you are not imagining it. Depression and anxiety often travel together. Many people look for online therapy for depression and anxiety because they want one visit that looks at both, not two separate waiting rooms.
This article walks through how combined symptoms show up, what an online visit typically includes, how therapy and medication can fit together, and how Klarity Health’s independent licensed providers may help you start care from home.
If you are in crisis, thinking about suicide, or feel unsafe, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) first. Telehealth for routine evaluation is not emergency care.
Clinicians see this pairing constantly. Worry can drain energy. Low mood can make ordinary tasks feel threatening. Sleep, appetite, and concentration get hit from both sides, so it can be hard to tell which diagnosis “came first.”
NIMH estimates that 21.0 million U.S. adults (8.3%) had a major depressive episode in 2021. NIMH reports that 31.1% of U.S. adults experience any anxiety disorder in their lifetime. The Anxiety & Depression Association of America notes that generalized anxiety disorder often co-occurs with major depression.
A good evaluator does not force you to pick one label in the first five minutes. They ask about duration, function at work or school, panic, avoidance, hopelessness, substance use, medical history, and safety. That same conversation is the usual starting point for online treatment for depression and anxiety.
You do not have to arrive with the “right” name for what you feel. Describe a typical week. A licensed provider can help sort symptoms from there.
A first telehealth visit is usually an evaluation, not a subscription hour of counseling. Expect questions about mood, worry, sleep, medications, allergies, and whether you have had therapy or psychiatric care before. The provider may use screening tools, review your goals, and talk through next steps.
What a visit typically includes:
What a visit typically does not include:
Some people want best online therapy for anxiety and depression and really mean weekly talk therapy. Others need a prescriber who can evaluate medication. Those are different products. Name which one you want when you book, so you do not land in the wrong queue.
Klarity Health connects you with independent licensed professionals who can evaluate depression and anxiety online. Therapy referrals may be part of the plan. Medication is considered only when clinically appropriate. Coverage and prescribing rules vary by state and by plan.
Talk therapy (often CBT or related approaches) helps you practice skills for rumination, avoidance, and panic. Medication can take the edge off enough that those skills stick. Combined care is common when symptoms are moderate to severe, or when either approach alone has stalled.
None of this is a ranking of “stronger” vs “weaker.” It is a fit question:
Internet-delivered CBT has been studied for mixed anxiety and depression. That supports treating both together. It does not mean an app replaces a licensed clinician.
If you already have a therapist, say so. Coordination beats duplicate plans.
Many commercial plans may cover outpatient mental health evaluation and follow-up when you see an in-network clinician, including telehealth. Coverage is never automatic. Deductibles, copays, prior authorization, and whether therapy vs medical visits process under different benefits all change the bill.
Use cautious language with your own plan too. “Covered” on a marketing page is not a benefits check. Call the number on your card, ask whether telehealth psychiatry or therapy is in network, and ask about copays for new-patient vs follow-up visits.
Self-pay is an option when you prefer not to use insurance, or when a provider is out of network. Ask for the visit fee before you book.
Klarity does not determine your insurance payment. Independent providers bill according to their credentials and your plan. Verify benefits before you schedule.

Call or text 988 if you have thoughts of suicide, a plan, or feel unable to stay safe. Go to an emergency department or call 911 for medical emergencies, severe agitation, or if someone cannot stay with you.
Online visits are for evaluation and ongoing care when you are stable enough to sit through a video or phone appointment. They are a poor fit when you need a locked unit, IV medication, or immediate in-person observation.
If substance use, psychosis, or a new medical symptom (chest pain, fainting, sudden confusion) is in the mix, say so early. The honest answer might be “start in person, then continue online.” That is still a win.
Klarity Health is a platform. Independent licensed professionals on the network evaluate patients by telehealth. You complete intake, meet a provider licensed in your state, and leave with a plan that might include education, a prescription when appropriate, follow-up, or a therapy referral.
What to expect:
Klarity’s network includes 2,000+ licensed providers. Availability varies by state and license type. Klarity does not promise a specific drug, a therapy subscription, or insurance payment.
When you are ready, start at online depression treatment. If anxiety is louder this week, use online anxiety treatment. Either path can address both when they overlap.
